This is my favorite damage to fix.
It’s very unsightly and might of happened without you even knowing it. On a windy day, little bits of dust and sand get kicked up. It can be especially bad if you’re driving into the wind – maybe a trip to Las Vegas and back through the dessert. You’re driving 80mph one direction, and the wind is blowing 40 miles per hour the other direction – which means the rocks are traveling 120 miles per hour into your car’s paint.
The damage probably isn’t bad enough to warrant having it resprayed, so what do you do?
You call me, that’s what. I use a special paint that is designed to stick in the chip, and not the finish. I use several methods to apply the paint, depending on the shape of the chip, and how many there are. I’ve been doing this on cars for 20 years and have worked on over 90,000. I had to do the math a few times – that seems like a lot of cars!! And it is!
I did a video of me working on a black car that was peppered all across the hood. There was almost more chips than paint!
The car is for sale at one of the car dealerships that I work for. I doubt that anyone would have bought it as bad as it was – but now, all the chips are gone.
Take a look at the video and let me know if you’d like help with your car. I can fix a lot of things, road rash, curb rash, light scratches and some key scratches, plastic trim restoration, and more. You can send pics to 714-766-0464 or visit the website. www.carpaintchiprepair.com
